Following their 4-0 humiliation by PSG in the Champions League last week, Barcelona got back to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Leganes at the Nou Camp. The win did not tell the full story, however, with the Catalan side struggling to break down the La Liga newcomers and only securing the 3 points thanks to a last minute Messi penalty. Real Madrid stay 1 point clear with 2 games in hand over second placed Barcelona, with a comfortable 2-0 win over Espanyol at the Bernabeu. Gareth Bale made his comeback from a lengthy injury in this game and scored Real’s second goal. Elsewhere, Sevilla stay Third with a 2-0 home win over Eibar and Atletico win 4-1 away to Gijon, thanks to a quickfire hattrick from Kevin Gameiro.

Following their 5-1 hammering of Arsenal in the Champions League in midweek, Robert Lewandowski equalised in the sixth minute of stoppage time as Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich escaped defeat at Hertha Berlin to draw 1-1. Borussia Dortmund beat Wolfsburg 3-0, with the game being played infront of an empty ‘Yellow Wall’ due to a German FA punishment following crowd trouble in the RB Leipzig game. Second placed RB Leipzig recorded an impressive 2-1 away win at Gladbach to take them to within 5 points of leaders Bayern.

Paolo Dybala scored twice against his former club Palermo in a comfortable 4-1 win for the league leaders. That win took them 7 points clear of second placed Roma, who recorded a 4-1 win over Torino in Rome. Elsewhere, Napoli stay third after an impressive 3-1 away win at Chievo, Inter round up the top 4 with a 1-0 away win in Bologna, with Gabriel “Gabigol” Barbosa scoring the only goal.
